History and Mission
Under its first name, the Rotary Club of Hamilton/Washington Townships Sunrise was chartered on September 25, 1992. The club was a Friday morning spinoff of the larger Hamilton Rotary Club and quickly established its own identity.

Starting with a small project to build a wheelchair ramp for a local family, the club would take little time to create a powerful presence both locally and internationally.

Among our major projects over more than 30 years are:

• The construction of Megan’s Place, a quiet park in honor of Megan Kanka.
• The creation of Adopt-a-Child/Save-a-Life to provide shelter and vocational training to street children in Brazil.
• A $300,000 capital campaign to build the Miracle League of Mercer County barrier-free baseball field for players with special needs.
• The construction of the gazebo/bandstand at the Robbinsville Town Center lake.
• The annual Flags for Heroes event - a display of more than 250 flags on the grounds of RWJ University Hospital Hamilton sponsored by area residents and businesses honoring heroes in their lives.

We continue to pursue ways – large and small – to be a positive force for the people in our communities.
