Our club on March 27 presented the local Happy Smiles Foundation with 100 books as part of their 3rd Annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Book Drive. Rotarian Carlo Vitale, President and Co-Founder of Happy Smiles, accepted the books from Janice Miller, who coordinated the collection for our club. In total, Happy Smiles has collected more than 1,500 books this year for distribution at various schools and community partner locations. At the events, Carlo (dressed as the Cat in the Hat) and team read to the children and hand out books, demonstrating their foundation’s motto “a new era of kindness.” |
