Our “Flags for Heroes” fundraiser is in the home stretch – an opportunity for individuals and businesses to sponsor flags recognizing heroes in their lives or in their community. Check out our website at www.rhrotary.org <https://www.rhrotary.org/> to order your flag sponsorships and for information. The 3-by-5 foot flags will be flown from Nov. 1-14 on the grounds of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/Hamilton, along Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road, near the intersection of Klockner Road. Individual flag sponsorships are $50. Every sponsor receives a certificate, a keepsake medallion and mention on an on-site banner and in Our Robbinsville and Hamilton Square Neighbors. Corporate sponsorships starting at $250 are also available.
Keep those socks coming. We have multiple drop off locations for our collection of new white athletic socks of all sizes (color socks are also welcome) during the month of Socktober. The socks, which will be provided to the Trenton Rescue Mission, can be dropped off or delivered to the following locations:
Chris Merlino, 2141 South Broad St., Hamilton, NJ 08610
Cindy Rosen, 4 Eisenhower Drive, Robbinsville, NJ, 08691
Marilyn Silverman, 1905 NJ-33, Hamilton Square, NJ, 08690
Our Fall Bike Drive is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside of Friendly’s in the Foxmoor Shopping Center. The bikes we collect will be taken to the BGC Bike Exchange, where they will be rebuilt by volunteers and sold at discount prices with proceeds funding after-school and other children’s programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County. And since we’re at Friendly’s, of course we’re having an ice cream social at noon. Bring you friends and family members.
Our club will be joining other volunteers in packaging and delivering 360 dinner packages for families in need around Thanksgiving time in an effort organized by Team85 Fitness & Wellness. Team85 will be working with churches and pantries in the area to deliver cooked and uncooked meals to seven locations on Tuesday, November 24. The meal packages will be assembled by volunteers during the weekend of November 7 and 8 at the Team85 facility in Bordentown. Team85 buys the turkeys and is collecting donated items to complete the meal package such as stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes, gravy, mac & cheese, apple sauce and canned veggies. Our club donated $500 for the supplies.
